“Exploradores” es una serie de esculturas que buscan un sentido a su existencia en el mundo. En una nueva era, hace cientos de años de la digital, la sociedad en la que viven está completamente globalizada. Sus habitantes dejan de ser humanos al poco tiempo de nacer, momento en el que empiezan a ser modificados con implantes, hormonas, y trasplantes de tejidos cultivados artificialmente hasta convertirse en superhombres sin alma. Embriagados de bienestar, la esperanza de vida supera la centuria, las religiones dejan de tener sentido, no conocen el hambre ni las desigualdades sociales, han conseguido un equilibrio sostenible en el planeta, pero hace muchos años que anhelan y buscan el sentido a su existencia. No dejan de investigar y buscar algo que les guíe hacia una razón que les empuje a seguir existiendo. Estos seres exploradores se lanzan al universo con la misión desesperada de descubrir una señal. Muchos de estos superseres viven sólo para encontrar algo mágico que les ayude en su anhelo.

Biography

I was born in 1977 in Huéscar, north of the province of Granada, where plateaus rise more than 1.000 meters above sea level. Long before I began my journey through the world of art, the deserted landscapes, almost extraterrestrial, that I saw throughout my life, have shaped in my subconscious an imaginary world of science fiction that has influenced all my artistic work. In Macael (Almeria), also with a particular landscape and climate, there are places that look like the Moon or Mars. I lived and worked in this city a few years, where the native artisans transmitted to me the technique of sculpture in stone and marble, ancient abilities that they know from the time of the Romans. The admiration I feel for painting was a magnet that led me to study the world of the arts, and to try to learn procedures that would allow me to express what was in my head. In 2003, encouraged by my family and friends, I began university studies of Fine Arts in Altea.
