Biography

Leticia Gaspar García, Doctora en Bellas Artes en la UPV/EHU, vive y trabaja en Bilbao. Está terminando de redactar la tesis doctoral, para la cual ha contado con una ayuda FPI de la UPV/EHU. En el marco de la misma, ha percibido una Ayuda de movilidad de Investigadores, que le permitió pasar una estancia de tres meses en la New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Estancia que complementó una anterior realizada en la biblioteca del Edinburgh College of Art. En 2010 participó como ponente en "Imágenes en tensión: sobre la ausencia y la presencia del cuerpo en las problemáticas de género", en la EHU/UPV. Compagina la labor de investigación con la pintura. Para ello ha contado con becas como la concedida por la Fundación BilbaoArte para la realización de proyectos artísticos (2018) o la de la Diputación Foral de Bizkaia en la modalidad artes visuales (2015). Ha recibido diferentes premios y distinciones, principalmente en el campo de la pintura. Entre ellos las adquisiciones en la XX Bienal internacional de arte de Cerveira 2018 y en el XLIX Concurso de Pintura y Dibujo “Ciudad de Tomelloso” 2017 o el 1º Premio en el XLVIII Premios Ciudad de Alcalá Artes Visuales 2017.
