Biography

Gerasimenko Stepan Mikhailovich, who was born 26. 01. 1926 and died in 2008. He was born in Krasnoe Baturin village, Chernigovsky region, Ukraine. Artist participated in the WWII and was awarded for this. Later, in 1965, Gerasimenko graduated from Kiev Art Institute (studio of professor Trahimenko). He become member of Union of Artists of Ukraine only in 2003, as artist never follows the official line of the Soviet Union of Artists, never painted in the Social Realism and all his life was describing the beauty of Ukrainian Nature! 1951-55 works in Art Combinat in Ternopol Region. 1955-56 works in Sumy city. 1956-59 works in the central park in Kiev. 1959-81 works in Kiev Philharmonics. 1981-87 works in Artistic-Industrial Organization “Artist”. Gerasimenko Stepan Mikhailovich was participating in the renovation of Mikhailovsky Church. He made there the figure of famous Ukrainian Hetman I. Mazepa and panel “Baturin 1708”. Gerasimenko participated in regional art exhibitions since1975; In All-Ukrainian since 1994.
