Utilizando procesos de dibujo y pintura Alison South investiga cómo se puede mostrar la fragilidad de la memoria.  Trabaja a partir de imágenes encontradas de gente desconocida y últimamente se ha enfocado en  los  trabajadores.  Para fragmentar los recuerdos y mostrar la poca fiabilidad de cualquier texto histórico utiliza la transparencia o sobrepone capas de puntitos u otras imágenes. Su propia memoria se mezcla con las narraciones anónimas.
