The great art collection of Gulbenkian's Museum located in Lisbon, Portugal is a big inspiration for the history of visual arts of that country and Europe. As an artist, working on domestic objects and luxury utensils, find this collection breathtaking and so multicultural, encompassing asian, muslim, and european art pieces. So i decided to continue this series, painting some of the decorative art objects of that museum. The twist is that, for many decades, this art estate was financed by the oil family business, based in Turkey. Caloust Gulbenkian lived in Portugal, almost his whole adult life dedicating himself to philanthropism. He created a huge artistic and cultural legacy and landmark mostly through his family business money. So i meant to confront the beauty of fine ceramics, represented by this two Turkish and Chinese porcelain vases with a plastic, ordinary jerrican getting filled with oil, the matter that fed all this patrimony; its financial resource for a long time. The materials used are acrylic, watercolour and indian ink. Figurative yet very fluid and dynamic. It is not framed.

Biography

Artista plástica y investigadora de art desde 2008, con formación académica en filosofia del art y museologia en la Universidad de bellas Artes de Lisboa . Curadora de algunos proyectos artísticos en Lisboa, Barcelona y Paris, con oficinas y palestras acerca de arte en museos. Enfocada en art sobre o en la naturaleza, creando installations, fotografiando y pintando lo que cree más interesante para su trabajo y búsqueda. Más recientemente ha coordenado residencias artísticas con artistas de Portugal y Angola para un proyecto de cambios multiculturales y de cooperación. Ha publicado su primero libro de ilustraciones infantiles. Está en curso un segundo libro de ilustraciones para 2022. Exposiciones individuales y colectivas de pintura y dibujo en Lisboa, Matosinhos, Oporto, Barcelona, Palma de Maiorca y Nueva Iorque desde 2008. Está preparando 2 exposiciones para el año 2022, una en el Museo Quinta de Santiago, en Matosinhos; la otra en el Forum Maia, en Oporto.
