"En los cuadros de Tomás Sivera se superpone una mancha oscura a una superficie pulida, el dibujo a la pintura.Sus fondos son papeles o maderas que el pintor ha manchado repetidamente con la intención de conseguir frágiles materias planas o rugosas que luego las sucesivas capas de barnices enfrían y protegen como lo haría un cristal brillante. Los dibujos superpuestos están realizados con una técnica tan antigua como el negro de humo . En las cavernas, los antepasados de los artistas retrataron sus tótems cinegéticos con esa técnica, utilizando teas apagadas para los perfiles y encendidas para las sombras" Horacio Fernández.
