Biography

Currículum “The beginning is the most important part of the job” (Plato) Asking ourselves questions about what the beginning of the world was like, and trying to give answers is undoubtedly what all thinking beings do in their lives. Jaime in some way gives his answer or simply an interpretation, his work is a celebration of the Beginning, of that prelude from which everything originated, not surprisingly the title of the work is “Origin”. Two elements appear evident within the composition: light and shadow, one the opposite of the other, one continually wins over the other in a continuous movement and change that creates a perfect balance. In fact, religions of all times have placed light that wins over darkness at the center of their cult. Jaime’s work is undoubtedly of great impact, in front of it the observer gets lost in infinite space, losing awareness of time, making a journey back in the history of the universe. Observing the Spanish artist’s work “Origin” also means experiencing absolute silence, as if one entered an anechoic room, no noise distracts the mind, nothing all around. The encounter with Jaime’s work becomes an experience that touches the sublime, something extremely out of the ordinary. The focus, the central point of the work is that glow that captures the viewer’s attention, while the darkness that is equivalent to nothing falls around him. In a certain way, Jaime’s work brings to mind a great eye, which sees beyond everything, which knows how to go beyond space and time, enclosing in it the mysteries of the universe. A radiance that gives life, the light that allows you to see, an eye that is given the ability to observe, the great arcane of the world hover around the entire work of the artist Jaime. “Observing is not just a receiving, a revealing, but at the same time a creative act” (Soren Kierkegaard) Obra donada a la Fundación Zaballos.
